Deep breath. Slow, even breaths. Your value is so much more than your past. Take stock of who you are right now in this moment, all that you are right now. Breathe into this moment. This moment is yours to do with what you will.
Sometimes setbacks happen. Sometimes things don’t pan out like we want. Sometimes we fail. Those things are not the whole story. That is not where things end. Take what has happened, embrace it, learn from it, and move forward with your new knowledge in hand. Embrace your setbacks. Embrace your so-called failures. They still have value. They do not define you. They are not your definition. You are so much more than one moment.
Friend, it’s okay to have a bad day, even a bunch of them. It doesn’t mean you’ve failed. You can’t demand consistency for yourself. Humanity is inconsistent. Be gracious with yourself. You’re so gracious with others. Remember that you too have value. Remember that you too are worthy of grace. Be patient with yourself. Healing takes time.
Friend, your value extends far beyond what others decide makes you useful. You are so much more than useful. You are powerful. You are beautiful. You are intelligent. You are capable. You are brave. You are bold. You are so much more than anyone’s idea of who you are.
Look, you can only do so much. That’s okay. That’s healthy. You don’t have to make yourself do more than you can handle. Take your time. Take care of yourself. It’s okay that you understand and know your limits. Value them, balance them. You are in control.
