Deep breath. Things are about to get serious. Deep breath. You, dear friend, are doing beautifully. It won’t always feel like it. I’m so sorry for that. Some times people will see how well you’re doing and will try to take that good feeling away from you. Listen, that’s up to them. That’s their own heart. I’m here to remind you just how well you are doing, even when it doesn’t feel like it.

Look, you’re doing fine. Yes, some times heads and hearts feel like they’re going to explode. Yes, some times emotions run so high you can’t see anything. Yes, some times hurts go so deep they stop you from moving. That’s okay. It’s all okay. What’s good is that you are you, and you are wonderful. You really are doing fine.

Every day will not be flawless. Many will have struggles. Remarkably, you continue. Some days may feel impossible. There may be a storm outside or in your head or in your heart. It will calm. It always does. Breathe slowly. Focus on tiny victories. Don’t be overwhelmed by a heart storm. You will come out stronger. I’m sorry you have to go through it to get there. I believe in you.

Deep breath. Slow, even breaths. Things may feel out of your control. Remember those tiny movements inside your body that are constantly going. Things you’ve become so good at controlling you don’t even notice anymore. Your heart beats. Your lungs fill. Your blood pulses. Your eyes blink. You’re constantly hearing and seeing and smelling. You’ve decided to ignore your nose completely, even though you see it. You are in control of each tiny movement. Deep breath. Focus in.

Deep breath. Slow, calming breaths. It’s not easy to block out worry. It feels impossible. But do your best. Worrying won’t make things better. It won’t help your heart or mind. Breathe into the calm of today.
